Mokko Small Plate
A mame zara, or small condiment dish, from Hataman Touen's Texture collection. The mokko shape traces back to the Japanese quince, its four-lobed silhouette one of the most recognizable crests in Japanese decorative tradition. The nashiji (pear-skin) glaze achieves its characteristic speckled surface through iron powder mixed into the glaze, creating fine dark flecks that vary from piece to piece.
At the table, it works for soy sauce, pickles, a square of chocolate, or a single bite. As versatile off the table as on it, as a ring dish, a catch-all on a desk, or a rest for an incense stick.
Material: Porcelain
Dimensions: 11.8" L × 4.1" W × 7.1" H (300 × 105 × 180 mm)
