Kohiki-Silver Shaku Plate 12"
The Kohiki-Silver Shaku Plate by Riso Porcelain is finished in the kohiki (粉引) technique, where white slip is applied over the clay body before firing, resulting in a soft, milky white surface with a warm, subtly hazy depth that feels quite different from standard white porcelain. The large, open form of the shaku plate, a traditional Japanese sizing unit roughly equivalent to one foot, gives it a generous presence on the table that works equally well for composed plating or everyday dining. Designed by Shinichi Terauchi, made in Arita, Japan. Available in 10" and 12".
